Barcelona transfer talks confirmed as Basaksehir president lands at Nou Camp
BARCELONA are in talks with Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir over a deal to offload Arda Turan.
Barcelona are ready to offload news Arda Turan
Barcelona do not need Turan after signing Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool yesterday.
Turan has not played for the Catalan club all season and was expected to leave at the end of the campaign.
But Barca have now accelerated those plans to ditch the former Atletico Madrid star.
Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag has arrived at the Nou Camp for talks over the player’s transfer.
Gumusdag was pictured in the Spanish city and Gumusdag released a statement that said: “I have come to Spain to talk with Arda face to face and to learn how he really felt about playing for Basaksehir if an agreement was reached between the clubs.
While our team and player representatives had a series of conversations throughout the day, I spent time with Arda.
“I saw his desire, I listened to his goals and then I joined Barcelona Club CEO Oscar Gomar for an interview.
“In short, I can say that Arda is willing and ambitious.”

Turan cost Barcelona £26million when he arrived from Atletico in the summer of 2015.
He was unable to play for the club until January 2016 because Barca had been under a transfer embargo.
Thinks have not gone overly well for Turan since and the 30-year-old has failed to convince manager Ernesto Valverde he is worthy of game time.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Basaksehir want him on a free transfer but are willing to only pay half of the £3.5m remaining on his contract.
