The Messi family is getting bigger

Argentine broadcaster TYC Sports have bagged a rare interview with Leo Messi where he talks about his family.

The Messi family is about to get bigger, with the addition of a third child for Leo and his wife Antonella Roccuzzo.

After their wedding this past summer, Roccuzzo announced the imminent arrival of a third Messi child in October.

Messi already has two sons: Thiago (5) and Mateo (2).

Whilst Leo Messi has often spoken about how much he enjoys spending time with his family, it is rare that the Barcelona superstar opens up more deeply.

In a new interview with TYC Sports, Messi compared sons Thiago and Mateo in an amusing manner.

Leo Messi: “Thiago likes cars, motorcycles, he likes soccer, but even there … he plays a little bit and gets tired.”

The Argentina captain continued: “Mateo is terrible, a character, they are very different, Thiago is a phenomenon, more good and the other is just the opposite, a son of a bi***. They are very different from each other.”

Already there has been much speculation about the intent behind Leo Messi’s description of his two sons.

Clearly, Messi is enamoured with both his sons, as you would imagine from any parent.

And, his description of Mateo is given with a huge smile on his face.

It is refreshing to hear Leo Messi talk of his youngest son in this manner. Pretty much like any other parent.

Also in the interview, Leo Messi discusses whether his two sons like football.

On Thiago, Messi compares his oldest son with Luis Suarez’s son Benjamin.

Messi: “Thiago’s friend, Luis’s son, Benja. They have the same age and he’s football crazy. He loves to play football, he watches football, he knows all the players. And Thiago no, he likes cars, he likes motorcycles, he plays other things. He likes football, but just a bit.”

On Mateo, Leo says: “Mateo does play a bit of football, right-footed. He’s more coordinated. He hits it well. But, he’s small.”
