Lionel messi have bad news for Cristiano ronaldo

In news that might shock precisely no one,Lionel Messi has this weekend claimed that he doesn't see him ever sinking a few cold ones or firing up the grill with fellow

Despite often coming face to face in the 'El Clasico' match between Real Madrid and Barcelona, Messi claims the two don't speak, and he can't see a time when they would strike up a friendship.

"I don't know if we will be [friends in the future]," Messi said in an interview with Spanish publication Marca.

"Friendship is built through spending time together and getting to know each other," Messi explained. "We have no relationship, mainly because we only see each other at awards ceremonies... Everything is fine, but our lives don't cross over very often."

Both players are no stranger to picking up awards, of course. Since 2008 both players have battled it out to pick up the end of year Ballon d'Or, with Messi edging Ronaldo out 5-4.

Perhaps this year, they could both win, and be forced to write an acceptance together as an after-training project. Wouldn't that be nice? No? OK then, let the rivalry continue...

Then again, with reports that Ronaldo is set to leave Real Madrid, it might not be that much of a problem for much longer anyway.
