Chelsea FC are eyeing up a potential move to sign FC Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are preparing for the eventuality that Fabregas will leave Stamford Bridge following interest from AC Milan.

The same article states that Maurizio Sarri has made it clear to the Chelsea FC board that he doesn’t want Fabregas, 31, to be sold until a replacement is signed.

According to the same story, fourth-placed Chelsea FC should expect to pay around £15m to sign the FC Barcelona starlet Suarez.

The former Manchester City playmaker has struggled to break into the FC Barcelona team in the current campaign.

Suarez has scored eight goals in 58 games in all competitions since his move to Camp Nou in 2016.

The Spain international did feature regularly in the FC Barcelona team in 2016-17 and 2017-18 but Suarez has been out of favour throughout most of the 2018-19 season.

FC Barcelona signed Suarez in a £3.5m deal from Villarreal in the 2016 summer transfer window.

Suarez made one appearance in the FA Cup and the League Cup at Manchester City before his move to Villarreal.

Chelsea FC have a lot of depth in the middle of the park given that Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are competing for a starting spot.
