Bayern Munich star given permission to join Chelsie
The Blues have been monitoring the Chilean, with manager Antonio Conte being a big fan.
It is now understood that they would be willing to let him depart should a club meet his asking price, according to German football magazine Kicker.
Dissatisfaction
Bayern Munich have been unhappy and expressed their dissatisfaction over Arturo Vidal’s level of performance so far this season.
The club’s hierarchy are not happy and are unsure that the midfielder is capable of getting back to his best.
The German giants are therefore willing to let the Chilean leave, with a number of clubs poised to pounce.
They have been also forced into their decision to sell with his contract expiring in June 2019.
Bayern are unwilling to let Vidal leave in January, though, with doubts surrounding James Rodriguez.
Substantial asking price
One major stumbling block, however, appers to be Bayern’s valuation of the 30-year-old.
£50m is the fee which the German champions are demanding.
Bayern are willing to let Chelsea have the midfielder if they are willing to match this.
Conte a big fan
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen on reuniting at Stamford Bridge with Vidal.
The Italian is desperate to add reinforcements in January, as he looks to catch Premier League leaders Manchester City.
He is also looking to bolster his squad, after a tricky start in the Champions League.
Under Conte’s guidance, Juventus, with Vidal a key member, won three Serie A titles.
The Italian helped Vidal reach his brilliant best and one of the best players in Europe.
Reports early on this year claimed that Conte and Vidal had already discussed a reuniting in West London.
Vidal had even gone as far as starting to learn English to help his transition to the Premier League.
The Chile midfielder recently retired from the national team after they failed to reach the World Cup.
