Barcelona planning life without Pique and Suarez – They have found their replacements
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona are very interested in signing RB Leipzig’s duo Dayot Upamecano and Timo Werner.
The Catalan giants are strongly interested in reinforcing their squad after Neymar’s deparature last summer.
Despite completing the move of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund and Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande, the Blaugrana chiefs want to sign a central-defender and a striker.
The club’s sporting director Roberto Fernandez recently scouted Upamecano and Werner in Leipzig’s 2-0 to Bayern Munich.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Fernandez has analysed from close the duo’s display.
It is said that Barca are considering the pair as long-term replacements for Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez, who are now in the 30’s.
Upamecano, 19, is considered as a key figure by Leipzig having made 15 appearances for the club, while Werner is also wanted by Real Madrid
Barca are also monitoring Inter’s Milan Skrinar and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, while the top target remains Philippe Coutinho.
