Neymar praises Cristiano Ronaldo and drops huge hint over Real Madrid

Neymar has lavished praise on Cristiano Ronaldo and claims there is little he can do to dispel speculation he will join the Ballon d’Or holder at Real Madrid in the summer.

The Brazil international signed for the Ligue 1 leaders last yeasr in a controversial £224million world-record deal from Barcelona.

Despite scoring 26 goals in all competitions, Neymar has rarely looked settled in the French capital and is said to have fallen out with his manager Unair Emery, several of his low-profile teammates as well as grown disillusioned with the level of competition in France.

Real Madrid attempted to sign the 26-year-old before he joined Barcelona in 2013 and are preparing to make him their first Galactico signing since the arrival of Gareth Bale at the Bernabeu five years ago.

On his future, Neymar said: ‘I came to Paris to make history but the rumors about my alleged desire to leave are always circulating.

Should Neymar return to La Liga after a one-year absence, he would be likely to form a devastating partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo who looks set to continue his association with the Champions League holders after a difficult start to the season which prompted speculation over his own future.

On Ronaldo Neymar added: ‘I have respected him a lot for the history he has made, he is a reference for someone like me.
‘He has spent the last 10 years at the top, just like Messi, and we all aspire to be as good as them ‘Still, I must say that there are more important players at Real Madrid, we should not focus only on Ronaldo.’
