PHILIPPE COUTINHO fears he will have to complete a move to Barcelona this month - because they will move for someone else if he doesn't.

Coutinho, 25, missed Liverpool's game with Burnley today with a supposed thigh injury.

But sceptical Reds fans believe that the injury excuse is a cover-up and he could instead be moving to Barcelona.

Barca had three bids for the Brazilian playmaker turned down over the summer but they are set to move again following the reopening of the transfer window.

Express Sport understand Coutinho wants to move to the Nou Camp and he will do all he can to do just that.

And The Sun are today reporting that he fears Barca will take their attentiosn elsewhere if he does not move this month.
The transfer saga took a twist on Saturday when Nike appeared to have confirmed Coutinho's move.

The kit giants, who make Barcelona's strip and sponsor Coutinho, were advertising Barca shirts with Coutinho's name on the back.

The company website said: "Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou. Get your 2017/18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician's name on it."

The listing was then hastily deleted.

Sky Sports pundit Tony Cottee believes Coutinho will stay at least until the end of the current campaign.

“Personally, I can’t see Philippe Coutinho leaving until the end of the season,” he said.
“I think if he was going to go he would have gone at the start of this season.

“People do it, they make mistakes, or someone had a bright idea or whatever.

“I can’t see him going, I cannot see him going in this window, I really can’t.

“I think he will go at the end of the season. I can’t see him going.”
