Super for Man United: Real Madrid’s January signing is on
Man United & Real Madrid
One of the transfer rumours which has been doing the rounds for years is that David De Gea could leave Man United for Real Madrid.
De Gea, the Spanish international goalie, was close to a move to Madrid a few years ago. However technical problems regarding the paperwork saw the goalie remain at Old Trafford.
As the January transfer window rolls around, transfer rumours are again on the agenda.
But, according to Marca on Monday, Madrid appear to have moved on in their attempts to land De Gea from Man United anytime soon.
Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga
For several weeks there has been speculation that Athletic Bilbao goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga could join Los Blancos.
Kepa is out of contract at the end of the season, so Bilbao either have to sell the keeper now or watch him leave for free in six months time.
According to Marca, Bilbao appear to have taken to first option. The front page of Marca reads:
Kepa – gift of Kings – The goalkeeper will be a Real Madrid player by the first week of January, signing for six seasons on 2.5m net wages a year.
Madrid offer Athletic 25m (5m more than release clause) after Club World Cup.
FIFA Club World Cup
Real Madrid have now jetted off to the Middle East to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.
On Wedneday the reigning La Liga and Champions League holders will take on Al Jazira in the semifinals of the tournament.
Real Madrid are looking to become the first team to ever win the CWC in back to back seasons.
Real Madrid 5 – Sevilla 0
Real Madrid’s final Spanish league match of 2017 was a 5-0 whitewash against Sevilla.
All the goals came in the first half as Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice.
