Barcelona sign one of the most promising defenders in Spain

Iker San Vicente will become a Barcelona player in the weeks ahead. The 16 year old defender is leaving Osasuna and will be incorporated into the Juvenil B squad.

According to Diario de Navarra, Barcelona are in contact with Osasuna directors to formalise a deal to pay them some money for future objectives but they do not want to negotiate.

San Vicente will arrive for free. Up to 16 players sign on year by year, until they can sign their first professional deal. That's what Osasuna wanted. He was formed in their cantera but he declined the proposal for a contract, although he is still training with his team-mates.

SPORT wrote in September that Barcelona were interested in 'Sanvi', and now that has materialised. Real Madrid and Juve were also interested, but the offer from La Masia was more interesting. When he arrives at Barca, San Vicente can link up with midfielder Robert Navarro, whom he shares an agent with and who came from the same place.

Barcelona see him as a player with a lot of potential and after letting Eric Garcia escape, they want to bring him in. Garcia went to Man City and is the youth team's captain there now.
