Jose Mourinho has given huge update on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return

Jose Mourinho is convinced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will come back before the New Year.

The Manchester United striker underwent surgery in May after suffering a serious ligament injury which forced him to miss the start of the season.

Although the 36-year-old was still recovering, United decided to give him a new one-year contract and the Swede icon is nearing his return to action.

He even has started to take part in United’s first team training sessions.

‘Zlatan is here,’ said Mourinho ahead of Saturday’s match against Huddersfield. ‘He’s working here and under our control. ‘He’s working as you would expect – so, so, so hard. But he’s not going to be back in the next week or the next couple of weeks.

‘Let him take his time and be back when everybody feels is the right moment. Do I believe he’ll be back in 2017? Yes, I do. But it’s just a feeling.’
