Here’s the winners of this year’s The Best prize

FIFA had the inaugural ceremony of their own individual award “The Best” last year, with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo winning it.

Although Ballon d’Or remains the most prestigious individual trophy that can be won by any footballer, The Best is expected to compete directly with it in the years to come.

Ronaldo deservely picked up the alocade last year after guiding Real Madrid to the Champions League glory, and also Portugal to the European Championship triumph.

However, this year the ceremony will be moved to October after last year it was held in January, in the same month as Ballon d’Or.

The event will take place on Monday 23’rd October in London.

And according to the Spanish outlet Marca, the winner has already been decided and they claim they know who it is.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo will pick up the trophy after helping Los Blancos win the league title and their second Champions League trophy in a row.

Lionel Messi and Neymar will come second and third.

On the other hand, Zinedine Zidane, according to the same source, will beat Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri for the best manager prize.

Gianluigi Buffon will be ahead of Keylor Navas and Manuel Neuer for the best goalkeeper.

Marca also claim that Real Madrid will have five players in the World XI with Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric included.
